Cat Lady Jam - Strawberry Lavender Rose

8.00

Strawberries, lavender and rose is a combination to delight cat ladies and jam lovers alike! Rosewater, lavender and rose tea, lavender and strawberry balsamic, hibiscus and, yes, catnip, provide a rounded floral and citrusy note to the natural, fresh sweetness of strawberries. This jam pairs well with creamy cheeses, and is the perfect accompaniment to your morning scone.

For every jar we sell, we will donate $2 to Second Hand Purrs, a no-kill shelter located in the Bayview neighborhood of Milwaukee. The dedication and love of the volunteers inspired this jam, and we are happy to help contribute to the care of the kitties.

Why "Cat Lady" jam?

While living in NYC, Jennifer volunteered every Sunday at KittyKind, a no-kill shelter in Manhattan. Through her work at the shelter, she saw a fierce and passionate dedication from the volunteers, adopters, foster homes and vet technicians to the well-being and safety of homeless, abused, unwanted cats. Most of these volunteers were women. Her life was changed for the better by this experience. Here in Milwaukee, she works at a restaurant with several other women who have given cats loving homes, and they fondly call themselves "The Secret Society of the Lavender Cat Ladies". 5 lilies also loves using lavender and rosewater in cooking. And thus the Cat Lady jam was born.

Second Hand Purrs is a Milwaukee based no-kill shelter, located in beautiful Bayview. They work tirelessly to care for cats in need until they can find the right forever home for each of their residents. They are run by volunteers and operate exclusively on donations, which are tax deductible due to their 501(c)3 status.

5 lilies is pleased to donate $2 from the sale of every jar of our Cat Lady (Strawberry Lavender Rose) jam to Second Hand Purrs. We encourage you to visit the shelter at 4300 South Howell Avenue in Milwaukee to see the amazing work they are doing. Now, go hug your cat!
